OK I’ve had a pretty dim view of Ozawa, regarding him as a power-hungry old-school politician who only left the LDP to further his own career and doesn’t care if he destroys the current DPJ government. Well, let’s give him a chance – have a look at this recent interview:

When I said give him a chance, I meant that some of the ideas he put forth in that interview seemed to make sense. I still don’t want him to destroy the DJP, and I don’t think he has much support in the country outside the corridors of power.See this Asahi Shinbun article.
